I am trying to figure out how to trasfer my VHS home movies to DVD, by using a DVD recorder. Is there any way to playback my VHS movies while recording on the dvd recorder? Any help would be great!

Hook VCR into the Video Input on DVD Recorder like it is into the TV.
Hook DVD Recorder into TV.
Set DVD Recorder to Video Input.
Insert Blank Recordable DVD.
Press Rec/Pause on DVD Recorder,
Press Play on VCR.
Then release Pause on DVD Recorder.
Have Fun.

I don’t want to "pirate" any movies, but would like to rip DVD’s that I bought into my computer.

Are there ways to rip copy protected DVD’s into my computer?

Which software allows me to do it? Is it legal?

Just use your iTunes..
Launch iTunes and click "Add files" to add your movie into iTunes library.
Then connect your iPhone to Mac or PC.
Drag the movie onto the iPhone icon appeared up in the left side of iTunes. Done~~

Ah! If the movie format isn’t match to iPhone, you have to convert them to .mp4 video before transfer them to iPhone. BUT iTunes is helpless on movie conversion.
So you may need a third-party software.
I am using cucusoft iphone video converter suite..and i think it would be your best bet on PC.

I have dvd movies and all i want to do is to put those moives in my itunes and then in my ipod nano 3rd gen. also how can i put online videos like youtube videos on itunes.

You can do it easily with Dvd Fab. It will convert your DVD into an iPod movie. Once it’s converted, you open iTunes, click file/import file & find the converted file on your computer. Import it into iTunes then put it on your iPod. Have fun.

I have tried downloading GOM player. The player is working fine but i am still unable to capture any images from specific movies. When i click on the capture button a message comes on the left hand top of the screen saying that it has been saved. However it is not there in the folder. I could capture images from FLV movies. This is a pure DVD movie. Kindly advise

First of all you should know Movies are copyright protected and you can not upload to youtube unless you got permission.

Now here is an answer to your questions.
Want to save chapter from DVD movies.
Insert DVD in to the DVD rom or CD rom it will start by auto or any software which you use to play will start it right?
Now exit that software which you use to watch DVD ok.
Do not eject DVD please, keep reading, go to my computer and locate DVD drive right click the mouse then click OPEN
You will see Audio and Video folders click on Video folder here you will see files with extensions BUP/IFO locate VOB file. The best way is set VIEW to thumbnail. By doing this you can easily see thumbnail of chapters put cursor on that and copy to the desired place. You will have to convert VOB to AVI/MPEG/MOV or other format which Youtube accepts.

I already have memory sticks and DVD’s, just no way to put the movies on my computer then on my memory stick.

first, rip the dvds to your computer. then use the converter below to save it to the right format.

also, make sure that you have enough room on your memory stick, and be prepared for a long wait .. full length movies take a long time to convert.

I should say computers with a DVD ROM drive. The movie is a homemade movie and has been finalized. The movie plays on my computer and home DVD player but not on a friends computer with a DVD ROM reader. My friend says commercial DVD movies play on their computer
