Will a cinema production program allow me to become a director?

If I get into a cinema production program at a university, will it prepare me for directing films?

It would be a great help.

But,I think the best prep.you can get is starting at the bottom in a small theatrical company.

Observe how the whole machine works, try all sorts of behind-the-scenes work.

Once you see the whole machine working, you will be really prepared.

I think the course would be a lot of fun though!

How do I capture PV GS500 Pro Cinema footage in Premiere?

Hello, I was wondering if I needed to set the project settings to progressive scan, or does it still shoot in interlaced. This is for the PV GS500 in Pro Cinema mode.

You do not need to make any changes. Panasonic’s Pro Cinema mode is an electronically derived 30 progressive frame system using the regular 60 fps capture mode. It is not true progressive frame rate capture… and is not 24 fps.

But you can always try different settings and capture a short portion of the video – it will either meet your requirements or not – if not, go back to what you were doing. Changing settings and experimenting is always a good thing.

How do you kiss someone in the cinema?

I’m going to the cinema with my friends, Mike and Sophie and a potential boyfriend, Bobby. Bobby is very shy and I’m impulsive, so I’m gonna try and kiss him. But I don’t want to just randomly stick my tongue down his throat. Plus I’ve never kissed anyone in public, or in the dark. Does anyone have any tips? Should I just hold his hand?

first put your hand on his then say sorry but keep your hand there. then just lean over and peck him on the cheek, and see how it goes from there.

why is the sound from my home cinema amp not in time with my LCD tv?

My dvd player is connected to my LCD tv via HDMI cable and the audio output from my dvd player is connected directly to my home cinema amp via coaxial cable. It is very annoying to see a slight delay from the sound compared to the tv.

Coaxial is one of the slowest connections you could possibly use. I’d spring for a Fibre optics cable, it is basically sound travelling at the speed of light, so it’s tranfering your digital audio signal at the same speed your digital video is being transered through your HDMI cable.
Monster Cable carries some very nice THX rated cables that do an AWSOME job, and because they’re nitrogen ingected, you don’t have to worry about bending the cable and breaking the delicate fibre optics lines like in the cheep ones.

If this doesn’t fix the problem (which it most definetly should) I’d get in contact with the retailer you purchased the DVD player as it might jsut be considered D.O.A. :)

Hope this helps

Does watching a movie in a cinema benefit the eyes?

October 242009

I’ve heard it from somewhere but does anyone know medically and scientifically if watching a movie at the cinema is good for the eyes in any way?

There is no medical or scientific reason that it would make any difference , either good or bad, either way.

That is simply using your eyes for what they are meant to do…see things.

What age is too young to sit through a movie at the cinema?

I want to go and see Ice Age 3, my 5yo would be fine with popcorn, drink and some lollies but my 2yo wants to go, personally I think he would last 5 mins and then be rolling down the isle for fun. What was the youngest age apart from babbies you took a child to the cinema?

I have teenagers and they still roll down the aisle for fun. Go for it!

How hard is it to switch from Cinema 4D to Autodesk 3ds Max?

October 202009

I took a 3d animation class at my college where I learned the basics of Maxon’s Cinema 4D. I wanted to get 3ds max because I heard it is more used in the industry(NOTE: I am not asking which is better). I was wondering if it is hard to crossover from Cinema to 3DS Max in terms of interface, modeling techniques, etc. Any additional info would be appreciated too.

Easy, just look at tutorial for 3ds max (I would recommend video’s at youtube)
