What is the typical schedule for TV actors while shooting?

I don’t need too much detail – I just want to know like when they have to get up, start shooting, when is lunch, do they get breaks, etc. Any info would be nice!

If you could explain the differences between TV and movie actors’ schedules (besides the amount of time shooting, and the way TV actors always shoot at the same time) that would be amazing.

Thanks!

you have to get up about five am and be on the set by seven, they feed actors well during shooting, breakfast is ready when you get there, lunch is served at noon, you spend most of the day waiting to be called while they are getting everything ready, since most tv shows are really short movies, the schedules are pretty much the same. Soaps are different in that they get there at six am, rehearse and work until shooting time then tape it for broadcast, it is really tough work.

How can we get actors to stop posting stupid "save the world" questions on "Yahoo Answers" ?

I’m so sick of you bone head actors using "Yahoo Answers" as a method to fooling people into thinking you actually care.

So what even happens after a winner is choosen? Are you to follow through with the ideas presented, or do you just go about your daily rutine?

I’ll put my $ on the latter of the two.

Kudo’s to you Sir. And here is your answer: Get all your friends, family and associates to boycott their movies, music, etc. until they quit with their stupidity. It amazes me how they have these grossly obese bank accounts, homes, cars, etc. and still have the propensity to ask stupid questions. They might as well bring back the enormous Sally Struthers as a spokesperson for world hunger. At least then we knew where all the food was going.

How did good actors really become actors?

People like Depp, Walhberg, Labeouf, how did they all really become actors? I know everyone says, "get a agent", "take classes", blah blah blah, but I know that’s not the case. You have to know somebody to become a good actor, right?

You don’t need to "Know somebody" to be a good actor, assuming you mean "Have a connection." What you need to be a good actor is natural talent, mixed with experience, and classes.

You’re thinking about "Knowing someone" to become popular. Just because you know someone doesn’t mean you’re a GOOD actor, and just because you know someone means you’ll be famous. You can know someone and be a terrible actor and, in justice, you won’t become famous.

You need to take classes. You’re just another bad-attitude kid who thinks he can find a shortcut to becoming rich and famous without having to do the work.

When it comes to Hollywood actors, do you think talent gets one good roles or beauty?

It seems as if talent these days doesn’t mean anything in Hollywood. I’ve seen numerous actors with extraordinary talents offered little or no roles. These actors are not drop dead gorgeous but very talented. The drop dead gorgeous actors are the ones we see on screen everyday exhibiting little or not talent. We call these actors (Line Readers) as they have no emotions all they do is talk.

Do you think talent gets roles or just beauty??

How many different assignments of actors are possible?

Exactly 4 actors try out for the 4 parts in a play. If each actor can perform any one part and no one will perform more than one part, how many different assignments of actors are possible?

24 assigments.
Take four parts (1,2,3,4)
RJSA RJAS RASJ RAJS RSAJ RSJA (6 combos)
That’s for R playing role 1. If S,J,or A play role one, you would get another 6 combinations. 6×4=24 combos.
Hope this helps!

How do beginning actors find those first few jobs?

December 22009

Posted in actors | 3 Comments »

I know actors get jobs based on their experience – the more experience, the better jobs (hopefully). But what for those beginners who have absolutely nothing? Could they list community theater projects they’ve done? School projects? Things like that?

community theater projects is fine, ofcourse. you eventually (hopefully) will replace all those projects with bigger things you have done. if you haven’t done community theater, then you obviously don’t have aresume. i still have community theater projects on mine….

sometimes you go to auditions and they dont even want your resume (even for national commercials—it all depends…ofcourse you need to have one prepared)

How did the actors make it look like they were stabbed during a swordfight?

How did the actors make it look like they were stabbed during a swordfight in Shakespeare’s plays? Thanks in advance :)

I think they used the "sword goes through your armpit" illusion.

What do you think of Hearing actors acting as deaf people?

What do you think of hearing actors acting as deaf people in mainstream TV?
Do you think the actor should be deaf if they are a deaf character? Does it matter either way?

Speaking as a deaf person, I think Paul R has a valid point. I cannot think of any instances however where a deaf character has not been played by a deaf person in mainstream TV… in fact, I can’t think of any deaf characters, just "partially hearing" like Ben in Eastenders, who doesn’t really count.

And well, if I was ever being portrayed by someone, as a deaf person I’d want to be portrayed by the right person, regardless of whether they were hearing or not. I don’t want a poor actor playing a deaf role just because they’re deaf too – it would seem like tokenism.

All I care about is whether the person does a good job and makes it believable. Yes, if they’re deaf themselves, that’s absolutely brilliant, but that should be of secondary importance. The actor should get the part because they’re a good actor and not because they have the same disability as the character – which is what Paul is saying. It is all about whether or not an actor understands their role and what they are doing, and having the same disability doesn’t automatically mean that you can play all other people with the same disability. Everyone is different – even a deaf actor may be deaf in the wrong way for the role, so it’s about being an actor first, and disabled second.

I’d also question "deaf mannerisms" because I think that’s suggesting that deaf people can be stereotyped, when they’re just like any other person with individual mannerisms and quirks and things.

How early do actors start their day?

Hi. Im wondering what time "movie stars" or actors usually begin their day when they are going to film a movie? I know most people will say " early" but if anyone has an actual time frame, that would be super helpful to me. Thank you so much!
