im making a movie for a film festival and i want it to win and get lots of good reviews. What should the genre be and what should it be about

Well, the best type of movie to make and get into a film festival is something with great, fresh content – great story, good performance, great direction, etc.. There is no genre preference (unless you are entering a film festival that focuses on a certain type of Genre). But if it were that easy, everyone would do it.

Kudo’s to you Sir. And here is your answer: Get all your friends, family and associates to boycott their movies, music, etc. until they quit with their stupidity. It amazes me how they have these grossly obese bank accounts, homes, cars, etc. and still have the propensity to ask stupid questions. They might as well bring back the enormous Sally Struthers as a spokesperson for world hunger. At least then we knew where all the food was going.

I recently seen a movie with Audrey Hepburn that came out in 1961. I am only 19, and it was the first black, and white movie i saw. I really enjoyed it. Does anyone know any other old movies that i can watch. I am looking for drama, or horror.

Me and a BUNCH of people are gonna make a movie, like an actual movie. We got all the stuff for it and everything. So we were wondering if its possible to submit our movie to the Sundance Film Festival. I was looking through the website and stuff and it talked a lot about "funding". We don’t really have (or need) any funding. So can I still submit it to the Sundance Film Festival? Oh and we’re all teens (14-16)

I couldn’t find anything that says you CAN’T submit, but at the same time, I’d be pretty surprised if they accepted a film made by 14-16 year olds.

Does watching horror movies cause peeps to have a mental sickness and less compassionate towards others?

I think it is different for each person. How involved is the person with the movies they watch..and how far displaced from reality are they. I personally love horror movies and they do not cause me mental illness. I also am an extremely compassionate person. Media of all sorts effects us…but movies are deliberately fictional and that gives them an edge I think. It gives them less power to effect us on a deeper level like the news or commercials do. They are deliberately subliminal, yes, but we go into it knowing this. Therefore, no, I do not think so.

Where can I get for relatively cheap a wide selection of really old movies?? like Fred Astaire, Audrey Hepburn, and all those really talented people?? Those are the all time best movies!!! And I want to own some of them on DVD. Any suggestions as to where i can get them??

AVATAR currently holds the record for the most expensive movie ever made, somewhere between $325 – $400 Million. But just wait … with inflation, the cost of movies going up, some day within a few years even AVATAR’s pricetage will be beaten. When 20th Century Fox made CLEOPATRA with Liz Taylor, at that time it had the highest budget of any film ever made: $30 million. Now, that amount wouldn’t even be considered realistic for a major motion picture produced today.

BTW – the highest grossing movie ever made is still GONE WITH THE WIND. The true way to find out which film grossed the most money is by comparing movie grosses Adjusted for Ticket Price Inflation.
(Adjusted to the estimated 2009 average ticket price of $7.18. Inflation-adjustment is mostly done by multiplying estimated admissions by the latest average ticket price. Where admissions are unavailable, adjustment is based on the average ticket price for when each movie was released (taking in to account re-releases where applicable).

I need some ideas! What kind of movies would you want to see at a film festival.

Do a parody of a film. Parodies are funny, memorable, and generally everyone will take the time to watch and if its good, will get it. They also show a lot of creativity.
